June 11th, 2009- Members and employees of Wetzel County EMS attended a dinner/presentation on the "Acute MI" which was held at Wetzel County Hospital. This presentation on the Acute MI was lead by Dr. Fanning, he explained how to recognize ST elevated MI, non-ST segment MI and the steps to take when transporting a patient to the cardiac cath lab at Wheeling Hospital. Also present at the dinner was a representive from AirEvac Lifeteam.

June 1st, 2009- Wetzel County EMS received their new stair chairs and placed them in service.

May 19th, 2009- Wetzel County EMS placed an order for 2 new Ferno EZ Glide stair chairs. These stair chairs will make it easier on extracting a patient from a scene where there are stairs and narrow hallways where the ambulance cots won't fit. The expected delivery date for the new equipment is June 2nd, 2009.

ALL Wetzel County Ambulances are Equipped With EZ Glide Stair Chairs.
